Ember is a local-first application. The companion runs entirely on your own computer. Your conversations, her memory, and your voice are processed and stored on your device and are never transmitted to us. We could not read them if we wanted to — they are not on our servers.

This policy explains the few places where any data is involved at all.

The software

• No account. You do not register, log in, or give us an email to use Ember.
• No telemetry. Ember does not send usage data, analytics, crash reports, or "anonymous statistics." There is nothing to opt out of.
• One download. At install, Ember fetches the local model it runs on. After that, the conversation makes no network calls.
• Your data is yours. Memory and history live in files on your disk. You can read, export, or delete them at any time, with no involvement from us.

This website

The website you are reading sells and explains Ember. We keep it light:

• No advertising trackers and no third-party profiling cookies.
• Standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) may be retained briefly for security and to keep the site running. They are not used to build a profile of you.
• A single local preference (for example, age-confirmation) may be stored in your browser. It never leaves your browser.

Checkout & payment

When you buy Ember, payment is handled by a third-party payment processor (crypto or card). To complete a purchase and deliver your download, the processor and we may handle:

• An email address, so we can send your download link and provide support.
• Payment confirmation. We do not receive or store full card numbers — those are handled by the processor under their own terms.

We use this information only to fulfil your order, support you, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell it.

Email & support

If you email contact@ember.computer, we keep that correspondence so we can help you and follow up. You can ask us to delete it.

Age

Ember is for adults. You must be 18+ or older to buy or use it.

Your rights

For the small amount of data we do hold — essentially your purchase email and any support messages — you may ask to access or delete it. Everything the companion itself knows is on your own device and entirely under your control; we never have a copy.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
